It depends on how you have it setup, and what your timing strategy is. If you don't know your actual/physical injection start point, it's not really worth changing anything. If you've set up your injector timing to specifically coincide with certain valve events you'll want to make the appropriate adjustments. If you are going to a bigger cam idle, driveability, and economy will probably suffer somewhat. However, if your injector timing is less than ideal, the change will be more dramatic than it needs to be. I found that running very large cams is a good motivator to figure out injector timing and get it right. Smiley

Sort of ressurecting an old thread... but I have a question...

Up until now I have understood the conversation... until I looked at the Injector Phasing info in my tune. I am running the 1220 box in an LS1 car. The crank trigger wheel has 48 teeth. My tune has the following inject teeth numbers.

Injector Phase:  0
Inject Tooth #1: 0
Inject Tooth #2: 3
Inject Tooth #3: 7
Inject Tooth #4: 6
Inject Tooth #5: 5
Inject Tooth #6: 4
Inject Tooth #7: 2
Inject Tooth #8: 1

Now that does follow my firing order, but how can a 48 tooth wheel (each tooth = 7.5 degrees) have injectors firing one tooth apart? Maybe I totally missed it... but something doesnt seem right?

I have the specs on when my valves open and close and I am just trying to ensure I have optimum injoctor phasing.

Another possibly unrelated question... I synced my timing and to sync it perfectly, I had to increase the ignition sync number from 7.46 theeth to 7.66 teeth. So, does or should that .20 teeth be factored in in Injector timing?

Thanks everyone.
