Hey all, have a question.  I have a 30-4100 installed on my car which has a 540 carbed Procharged F2.  At idle (1100 rpm) A/F shows great at 13~13.5.  During low speed driving (30 mphish) and low rpms the gauge will show lean up to 15-16 and occasionally go to -- for just a second.  When I get some speed in the car about 40 mph and above, the gauge comes back and begins to read steady in the 12~12.5 range which I know is safe also.  Is this normal to see at low speeds or do I have a sensor going bad?

It all depends on your throttle position... ( or if you are giving load on your vehicle or doing engine brake) When u iddle it sould retain approx 14.7 +/- when u give it some load... ie acceleration it should go down below 14.7 depending on application (NA /turbocharged /supercharged). on cruising... with part throttle it should read approx 14.7 again... and on deceleration (engine braking) it should go above 14.7 or just display (---)

Correct me if im wrong.

S3power, what you posted is basically correct but that scenario (closed loop operation) only applies to efi vehicles, the original poster stated he is running a carb setup.

To the original poster:  My suggestion would be to get out the trusty screwdriver and see if you cant tune out that lean spot.  Does the car hesitate, buck or stumble while lean?
