Darryl,
can you post again a setup file for the gauge flashing?
thanks
Dimitri
P.S. i worked on it a bit yesterday, but got a little bit confused , and i also had very limited time to play with it.

Post up your calibration, as well as what parameters you are trying to view on your serial gauge. I'll see if I can put something together for you.

Darryl,
i included the telemetry setup on the aem and the mdb file on the gauge. Having little difficulty to set it up. if you have time take a look at it. i still think that the gauges should be able to get flashed through the aem software in a way or through the same file. it would be a lot easier for everybody.
Cheers
Thanks

Maybe it's too early in the morning, but what's this .sts file? Where's your EMS calibration?

Hi Guys,
I'm being a bit dense here, and just want to check what I'm doing is correct. This is my first time using the AEM EMS and the serial gauges, and I'm setting up the gauges for my tuner, who is going to install them and then do the tuning on the motor (Mitsubishi GTO twin turbo).
Anyways, I'm having a 0-100 PSI sensor fitted for oil pressure. I need to get this wired into the ADCR11 wire on the ECU connector (pin 90). I then go to my gauge cal and select ADCR11 as one of my gauges. I open the look-up table and give the gauge a name (Oil Pressure), units (PSI), gauge display name (OIL). I then open autofill and in digit fill values, as the sensor is calibrated 0.5V=0PSI and 4.5V=100PSI, I select "Start cell 25 = 0" and "End cell 230 = 100" and then click fill table. This tells the gauge that the 0.5-4.5v signal range from the sensor, transmitted over telemetry as a 0-5V 8 bit signal, corresponds to the units 0-100 PSI? I then go to my bar graph fill values and set up my red (low) range, my amber (fairly low) range and my green (good) range, then in Bar LED I select "Start cell = LED 1" and "End cell = LED 24", then click Fill bar graph to send this data across.
But, I have a low pressure (red LEDs) from 0-8 PSI, and yellow from 8-12 PSI. This means I only have a couple of LEDs at the bottom end of the scale to warn me of low pressure (impending doom!). So, I now look at my look-up table and decide that I can increase the scaling on the bottom end of my scale, by reducing the amount of "Items" per "Dial LED" from 11, to 3. As I go further through the display values up to a more sensible oil pressure, I can then increase the number of items per LED, from 11 to 22, thus taking a linear scale and making it logarithmic in the LED display.
Does this sound right?
Next, I've set-up my EMS cal in degrees C for temperature, so when I check my telemetry settings for coolant temperature, I see Scalar 1, Offset 0, Min -128 and Max 127 and it's signed. Am I right in assuming that this means the water temperature range is 0 to 127 degrees C (0-127) and then -128 to 0 degrees C (128-255)? Realistically, I only need a gauge displaying 60-127 degrees C, so if I tell the gauge that 0-255 = "0 to 127 and -128 to 0", and that LED 1=60 and LED 24=127 - and range between those points, then all will be good?
Thanks in advance,
Steve (feeling very, very n00bish!)

My serial guage is working, but I can't get it to connect with my laptop/software provided... to change parameters. I don't have a serial porton my laptop, so I'm using a USB to serial into the female/female serial supplied with the guage. I'm following the instructions, but I'm get this error message:
Run-Time Error '380': Invalid property Value
? Any suggestions.

So.....are we still un-able to change it to show psi instead of percent.
It's lame to look @ the gauge and think quickly, okay, it's showing 39%, how much boost is that??
So I assume since it's a digital gauge, with only a sender for pressures, it can't sense vacuum like a mechanical gauge can?

I know you guys say you can't fine tune the scales.. for example ignition timing.. like the min value for me is -17 and max is around 72 i believe. these are values found in the ems parameters...
now, i was using the basecal previously, actually.. the basecal that came on the gauge, i set up the wizard and just used a few basic ones that came on the gauge untill i figured out the program portion, so it was just things like IAT, coolant, throttle etc.. now, if you look at the parameters for temperature in the ems, its -198 to 260, but if you look at how the actual gauge it setup on the basecal its much more fine tuned, it dosen't use even close to the whole range, it starts at 32 and goes up to 260, than there are a bunch of blanks, and up in the high range of the gauge (200+) there are the negative numbers, but just from -99 up to 32 ending at the 255 cell.
Im curious as to this setup, perhaps we could do something similar with ignition timing, to view just the range we need to, however.. the scale is fine that it does display ignition to the 0.25 about.. so theres no need to get it anymore precise. However, I wouldn't mind viewing it to the whole number.
Any Idea's anyone?

Is there any way i can change degreesF to DegreesC on the gauge? It's easy on the EMS but not on the gauge?

Thanks for the How To, and not sure if anybody checks this anymore but have a question.
I installed the AEM EGT Sensor (30-2050) and ran the wizard. I then assigned EGT #1 to one of my telemetry channels and clicked Show Info. It says:
Code:
Name Units Scalar Offset Min Max Signed? Bitmask
EGT #1 C 5 0 0 1275 N _
When I go to Auto Fill in the ProGauge software it won't accept the Max of 1275. It maxes at 999.
What is the procedure for this? I don't really need to see temps above 1000 degrees C. I'd have problems way before then. But I'm unsure of what the telemetry is actually sending and how the gauge interprets it. If I enter a Min value of 0 and a Max of 800 will the gauge show values correctly or will it scale them by 800/1275?
