The code for the Tru Boost boost controller gauge has been updated.  The following changes were made:

1.  The tru boost now displays vacuum readings as a negative number, "-XX"

2.  The wastegate crack pressure is now called "spring pressure"

3.  While setting duty cycle in the program mode, the tru boost displays manifold pressure until a button is pushed to change the duty cycle.  After a button is pushed, the duty cycle will momentarily display.

4.  The gauge comes loaded with the default settings below:
  Display Units-PSI
  Scramble Boost-10.0
  Scramble Boost Time-0.0
  Pressure Sensor-I
  Alarm-30
  Spring Pressure-2.00
  Bar Graph Full Scale-30
  Boost Setting A-10
  Boost Setting B-10

AEM will update any Tru Boost to the latest code for free.  However, the customer is responsible for paying shipping to AEM and return shipping from AEM.

Can I set it up to not read vacuum or would it have to be sent back to you ?

The gauge is hard coded to read vacuum.  There is no "option" to turn on or off.

Can the Tru-Boost be connected to use with the AEM EMS? Or can the EMS control boost?

The EMS can control boost.  There is no need to have both the Tru Boost and the EMS.

So what do you reccomend for the boost solinoid? Can you purchase the one that comes with the true boost gauge? And also if you use the EMS to control boost how would you change between a hi and low setting?

Thanks, JMAN

AEM sells the boost solenoid as a kit, pn 30-2400.  Read the Boost Control section in the AEM Pro User Guide for an explanation on how to configure your boost settings.  The Boost Control section is under Advanced Tuning.  If you've already installed the software, the users guide can be found in C:\Program Files\AEM\AEMPro\Instructions.

Any chance of having the TruBoost's control algorithm incorporated as an option into EMS firmware?  Or, published in such a way that it could be duplicated in the EMS boost control tables and options?

Make sure all the boost trims are set to zero.  In the boost wg duty map, enter the desired values you want.  When cofigured as stated, the ems will output the duty cycle from the boost wg base duty map.  So, if you set all the values the same, you essentially have the same boost control as the tru boost.  I hope this wasn't too confusing.

I just got my tru boost last month.  How do I know if it has the latest update or not?
I haven't installed it yet, so I don't if there is a negative for vacum, but if I'm going to have to send it back, I'd rather do that before I install it.

Get power to the gauge and go into the menu by holding both buttons for a few seconds, releasing, then again holding both for a few seconds to get to the proper menu.  Now tap both together to scroll through the options, if it's got "SPr" somewhere in there it should be up-to-date, I think the older software had "gAE" instead of "SPr".

I bought one in December and it's the latest software so unless your's is used from ~12 months ago I think you're good go.
