I am currently on the Michigan Tech. Clean Snowmobile Team and our turbo charged four stroke snowmobile is completely run by AEM. The fuel requirements for the 2009 Competition are flex fuel, I have talked to a few people and GM has a Flex Fuel sensor that will work. My question is has anyone messed around with flex fuel and AEM at all. Thanks
I was recently thinking along the same lines; but for a different purpose...
I believe that the EMS
CAN support a FlexFuel option if handled correctly. All we need is a 0~5V input that represents the fuel density ratio of gasoline/ethanol.
AEM's EMS currently allows us to adjust fuel delivery based on a 0v~5v 'user defined input'. Unfortunately, as "redevo7" pointed out, it doesn't allow us to modify ignition timing to take advantage of the improved resistance to detonation.
I'd like to change that and make all of the EMS units I'm currently tuning "FlexFuel" compatible...
Tell us more about GM's FlexFuel sensor..
