I had my car tuned running 1.11 and it's rock solid.  I now own a 19-1 serial datastream gauge and in order to run it  I need to update to 1.19 firmware.  I have done it twice now, only to have to downgrade to 1.11 again.  When I go to 1.19 the car runs pig rich and will barely stay running.  I don't want to have to retune because of a firmware flash.  Can someone tell me what i am doing wrong.  This is a MAP based  (aem 5 bar) supra JZ.

?OR? is there a way to run the serial gauge with 1.11?

Thanks,
Mark

V1.19 upgrades resets the default for your AFR units to Alcohol.  Double check this in "configure/units".  If it is showing gasoline re-select it because some have noticed it beginning set but still actually wrong.

already did that, with all the units, not just afr.

Did not make a difference.

Any other ideas?

I'm also having the same problem. AFR setting is correctly set.

It's stuck there. First set it to something else and then return it back to gasoline

I tried resetting the AFR setting, still didn't work. I even converted my 1.11 map to 1.19 again after changing that setting and it still runs rich.

Anything else I can check?

Gotta resurrect this thread instead of starting a new one:

I seem to be having precisely the same problem now as the OP with my RX-7....  The translation of cal files, v1.11-v1.21, is accurate, but it feels really rich.

98mkiv:  Did you ever solve this problem or did you downgrade back to v1.11?

Isn't v1.21 GM specific or something along those lines?  Something about interfacing with the factory gauge cluster?

I use the Paris Hilton tuning method: rich and retarded.

Yes, you are correct.  I meant to say I am upgrading from v1.11 to v1.19...  I've scrutinized the two files four times now, and I am convinced they are absolutely identical.  However, the car bogs heavily during gear shifts and backfires/pops like crazy on the v1.19 cal file.  Any other thoughts?

Try using the Compare Calibrations feature to look for differences, or post both the new and old calibrations here.

In addition to SB's post, you also want to take a look at the previous 1.11 Battery Offset tables compared with the 1.19 Battery Offset tables.

Some might have changed with the updated wizard files, so if the vehicle was running better with the previous BO, then copy that over to the 1.19 calibration.

Where do I access the "Battery Offset" tables?  Thanks.

Battery Offset tables can be accessed through Setup -> Injectors -> Primary -> Battery Offset Primary Table.
