Thanks! Is the "open loop" engine speed dependent or are there other factors involved also?

from what I understand, it is dependant on many factors, makeing it a true Variable thing, unlick VTEC which comes on at a set RPM. I think if you have a scangauge or something like that, it should be able to tell you when you are in open/closed loop.

The F/IC has been succesfully installed on the 2005-2006 Scion tC.
Here is the wiring diagram:
JR, Tuning an 06 Scion TC and the customer complained that the TPS has been making a "humming" noise when the car is shut off. We verified that it is in fact making noise when the key is off and the noise stops when we remove power from the F/IC. We also upgraded to version 3.04 hoping that this might resolve the problem (btw - I love the new features). This was a customer installed F/IC but I believe it was a complete "plug and play" install. The customer didn't have time for us to investigate further so I thought I'd post up here and you might be able to point me in the right direction... Thanks, Mike

Mike I have also had this problem and dont know how to fix it!! The TPS only has power sometimes without the ignition on. And as soon as you unplug the system it stops power. I would really like to also know how to fix this problem!!

Have you tried disconnecting the TPS signal from the FIC? Most people are not using the TPS signal for datalogging or tuning, there is nothing in the FIC that requires a TPS signal aside from datalogging. I believe our test vehicle was a 2005 TC, we put quite a few miles on it and didn't notice any humming or noises when the engine is off.

No I haven't tried disconnecting the TPS wire for the very reason you mention - datalogging. When returning customers request changes to a tune after modifications I try to review logs and TPS is something I consider important when reviewing these logs. Also, It appears that I am not the only one having this issue and would greatly appreciate a fix instead of removing functionality. Does anyone at AEM monitor this forum or is there another process for handling issues like this?

Well I went ahead and fixed the problem my self. I found out that on the TPS plug the green wire with the siver tracer was the one that was staying powered up. Thats the 2nd or 3rd wire in on the plug. So I went ahead and cut the wire about 3in from the plug and conected one wire to one end and ran it to inside the car and connected it to a little switch and ran another wire from the switch to the cut wire. That way I can turn the power on and off from the TPS whenever I want. Also the switch will act as a antitheft feature!! Installed it last night and left everything plugged in with the switch off. Went out this morning and flipped the switch on and the batterery wanst drained at all the car started right up!! I dont know if this was the right thing to do or not but I had to do something that whole thing of unplugging the F/IC just was staring to be a pain!!

Well after I put in the switch for the TPS it works great. But I still have something that draws power from the battery every once in a while. I cant find out what it is. But I do hear something inside the Transmission pan but I dont know what that could be. I can hear it making a humming noise with the key off. Does anyone have this problem? Or knows what it could be? Thanks, Chris

Hi. I'm looking for an 07 tc ecu wiring diagram and saw that you were asking for the same. Were you ever able to get you hands on it? Could you help me out?
