I need a fuel and timing piggyback for a factory NA car that now has a supercharger on it, 8lbs of boost. Does anyone have the AEM F/IC installed and running on an everyday street driver? If anyone does which functions are you using and how well does it work? General driveability, transition from no boost to boost and back, idle and cold start?HuhHuh

TIA

It's a 2005 Hyundai Tiburon 2.0 l Beta II engine. It has the Alpine SC kit that uses a Unichip with a 5th injector and is too rich right now through most of the RPM range.  The Unichip tune can only be changed by a Unichip trained tuner and they are few and far between. I want to get rid of the 5th injector and run larger primary injectors to add fuel when in boost. The F/IC controller sounds like it could be the answer. I can install and tune it myself or have it tuned by any competent dyno tuner, just would like to hear some first hand experiences of end users who have installed it on their own vehicle.

TIA again.

Yea man i have a turbo scion tc and im running the FIC..   daily driver.. i have had a few problems in the past with tuning but all in all it is a great setup..  i will tell ya right now that you are probally gona have problems with tuning if the "unichip" or whatever kind of piggy back you have on the car right now..   your best bet is to go with larger injectors and get rid of ur program your running now.. It will take some time to program but once it is your good to go!

check over in the 2006-2007 civic thread installation notes thread - i posted a volume about my experience with the F/IC so far.

It's a daily driver - no airflow mods yet, but i am very comfortable in tuning it and making it jive with the stock ECU.

I didn't use the PNP harness - too short, too expensive, but I managed to get my own wiring done with a quality crimper (borrowed) for right around $100, and truly, not so much as a hiccup.

I'm running the AEM F/IC on my DD, a 2007 Honda Fit Sport running 6psi on a Garrett T25. Cold start, tip in, and all that good stuff is handled by the stock ECU, it's all pretty much perfect. My only complaint is the first 5 seconds after a cold start the idle fluctuates by about 100rpm up and down. It evens out before I even get the clutch in to move.

With the closed loop offset feature, tuning was a breeze. I chose an Air:Fuel ratio to target at all load points and, because of my car's stock wideband oxygen sensor, stock closed loop control targets it. Very well I might add. I never break 12.5:1, even at 1 psi. It's rock steady.
