What exactly does the throttle correction fuel trim do?

I have a 05 SRT-4 with an EMS and am just curious what the throttle correction fuel trim does.
I'm trying to tune the car and am wondering if I should keep the trim numbers AEM provides or start all over with it.

It adds or subtracts fuel based on throttle position. For instance, on the 1510 startup cal, the Throttle Inj Corr table is decreasing the fuel injector opening time by ~12% when the throttle position is less than 30%.
