*Check out the USB to Serial adapter VIDEO* Click here As you all know, it's not exactly easy to find a laptop with a serial port. Your next option is to use a USB to serial adapter. There are few brands out there that many users have had success with, but that doesn't mean it will work for everyone. Try at your own risk.
Belkin, I/O Gear, and Radio Shack usually have good results. The USB to serial adapter will come with a disk, you will need to install the driver onto your laptop for it to recognize the adapter. Once you have installed a driver for your adapter, you will need to setup your AEMPro.
In AEMPro, go to ECU > Connection Port > make sure you have serial selected even if you're using a USB to serial adapter.
DO NOT SELECT USB BECAUSE THAT FUNCTION DO NOT WORK!!! You should be able to see the com port with your adapter connected. You should be able to connect to the EMS using a USB to serial adapter now.
