sure its not 16:1?

I don't know of too many end user gauges that will read that low. Most calibrate in the 9-19 range AFR

First thing, when you move the distributor, it will change the timing at the crank/balancer (as in checking it with a timing light).  It will not change it in the software because the software is showing you what it is targeting, not what it is.  Read the instructions on how to set the timing up.  If you are using the 30-1400, you should get the car started, while idling, check the timing with a light and set it at the distributor to match what the software says it should be (most likely 10 deg).  Read the instructions on the correct way to do this tho.

Is the car starting, then immeadiately die?  What is the engine temp?  What is the active pulse width in the main fuel table running at (approx) when it first starts and tries to idle?

Be patient and think things through, read the instructions a lot.  I know it can be frustrating at first, but it will get better.  I just started tuning my Novi2K 306 yesterday and it took a while to get it to start and idle.

In the wideband set-up make sure it is set to read "gasoline" and not alcohol.
Mine was set wrong and gave strange A/F readings also.
