test car
03 rsx-s
k20a (jdm type-r motor)
apex-i n1 catback
jdm dc5 header stock header for the k20a
ame v2 intake

on the kpro it made 209whp and 173tq
on the ems it made 217whp and 189tq and its smooth not ruff like on the kpro tune

I've noticed the same thing with kpro. It's very choppy on its power output. I've never had the opportunity to compare back to back on the same car the kpro and the aem. But it seemed like the aem cars always made more power. Now I know I'm not the only one who has noticed this. It's so hard to convince the customer's that they wasted there money on the kpro.

Kpro pulls ignition timing with IAT temps over 100 degrees from what i have seen on the dyno.  That is probably a contributing factor.

You can adjust the amount of fuel and timing the kpro adds or subtracts for IAT. For some reason, it just can't make the power down low that the aem can. I can get them to peak at about the same, but kpro just won't give me that flat power and torque curve. I just wish the aem would control the dam a/c without having to put a separate switch in. Kpro has them on that one.

You only have fuel compensation based air temp tables in kpro, not ignition.  You must be thinking of the s300 system, they have both fuel and ignition based air temp comp tables.  The air temp comp tables in kpro leave ALOT to be desired as well...
