So I'm tuning on this evo, and when ever I increase the boost past about 19psi the ignition breaks up around 5500.  But then at 6000 rpms' it resumes normal opperation and flys!  It really seems like an ignition problem, it's spuddering and backfiring.  I've changed plugs, reduced plug gap, coils and all check out ok.  Now the really weird thing is that I'm seeing this on another car too.  On a 3000gt VR4.  I believe that it's right around the same 5500rpm mark.  I play with fuel, and timing, (I'm not running it extreamely rich/lean or advanced/retarded).  5500 I'm at 11.5 afr on E85, and around 15 deg of timing.

Anyways I'm wondering if anyone else is having a problem similar to this, like is it possible that EFI noise is effecting cam/crank signals or something like that.  Really the only comon factor these cars have is AEM, so is there something in that link with them?

Thanks
