Can you please be more specific?

1. It sounds like you are able to install and run the AEMPro software, but are having trouble connecting to your EMS. Is that correct?

2. When you attempt to connect to the EMS, what is the exact error message that is displayed? Can you please write it down or post a screen capture?

sorry about that.
Yes when i connect my laptop to the EMS it says new hardware found please install the software for the hardware. so i went inside the aempro and clicked on connect it wouldn't connect.. i went under setting and change the port settings from com1 to USB because i'm using the serial to usb cable to connect the EMS to my laptop.
So the AEMPro wont connect to the ems.
Thanks

You Have to choose Serial, the USB option is not for your Adapter ( it is for the next Generation of the EMS Series).

First plug in your USB to Serial adapter and install the driver which was coming with the adapter.
After that, check in the Computers Hardware settings what COM PORT relates to that adapter ( should be one at Com 1 up to 16, you will see the Adapters Name beside that Port )

Then start AEM Pro, choose serial port and the Com Port in the pull down window which relates to your USB Adapter.

Then choose connect.... it should work now.

OH, by the way: Plug the USB Adapter EVERYTIME in the same USB port, because using an different one will change the Serial Port Number ( on most of the USD to Serial adapters )
