HELP!! RB25 DET Skyline R33 RANDOMLY RETARDS 30 deg

I use this car for circuit racing, running a GT35 turbo at 20 psi and 85mm throttle body. AAC has been disconnected. Engine has just been rebuilt and all timing checked and set up by professional tuner. While on dyno, the ignition suddenly retards about 30 deg and stays there until engine is switched off, then computer reloads default values on restart. There is no pattern to this happening, and could have been the cause of my engine blowing on the track (we thought it was oil starvation)

We have tried replacing the wiring loom, the CAS (Mitsubishi) and a different brand of computer, but problem still there. Anyone got any clues?

I recently had the same issue, however i caught mine before it caused any major damage. I did have some additional symptoms: the car would not start very easily, only after excessive cranking cycles the it would run lousy, since the issue i lost 150 whp any ideas???
Happy to know it was'nt just me.

The Tuner finally got to the bottom of the problem (although their bill was horrendous!).  It was all in the
CAS which was not secure inside the camshaft. There is a gear inside the camshaft which engages the CAS drive,
and this gear was slipping under certain conditions. Apart from that, the CAS itself can play up so I would check
both these things
