My original cdi box died last September....not really a problem, I called up aem and they said that if i shipped it out it would be repaired or replaced with usually a week or so turn around time.  Sounds good in theory, i was happy at the time.  Ive called periodically trying to see what the status is, and for months now they have said that they don't have any parts in to make the ignition boxes but that they will ship one whenever they get them in. So then 2 weeks ago I call back and they say that they have the parts in and they are going through testing and then my box will be shipped in the next week or so.  I was very happy to say the least.  Today i call and they say that they apparently got the wrong parts in, and can't say when they will get the right parts and to call back in a few weeks.  Is this normal service of this company?  I dont really know what to do at this point....should I let the car stay down for another 3 months waiting on these supposed ignition box parts or should I just go buy from another company and cut my losses with aem???

I have been waiting for quite some time also.  I would give up.  AEM cannot give me a good answer on when mine will be replaced either.  I am almost thinking about just getting my og unit back and try to fix it my self.  This is just insane.

exactly...i have had a few board level repair classes, im sure it isnt anything special inside.  It just ****es me off because I work at a speed shop and I always recommend AEM to ALL customers due to great experiences that I have had in the past.  If this doesnt get cleared up QUICKLY I will make it my job to make sure my customers never buy another AEM product....I am just blown away that a company can conduct itself in this way and keep their doors open.

I just talked with them today, and they said that they have the parts and I should have mine back in a few weeks.  Just as an FYI.

I'm thinking eBay.  Keeping spare parts is the best way to minimize downtime.

An update I have had mine back for a month or two now, and I have been so afraid to plug it in.  I do not want to get stuck somewhere because of a bad box.  I never even pluged it in.  I might hook it up later in the season once I know I will be taking the car down, but as of right now it is just not worth it to drive to the race track and hope this thing will still work.
