Idea for a Quicker better rough a/f timesaver

This one is pretty high on my list, I have to say most other systems made me jealous when I saw this on theirs, and I would love to see this on the Aem.
How about the ability to have support for 1 button air fuel cell changes with straight math to rough in a tune?
For example:
I would like to have a hotkey that modifies the currently selected cell. It takes the o2 sensor value currently, divides it by the desired air fuel ratio, and subtracts 1 to come up with a percentage value. This percentage value is then applied to the currently selected cell. If you were in the cell properly when you hit the button then that particular cell would be pretty dead on with a single keystroke.
Simple, straight, to the point.
No holding a cell on target and collecting sample data, no weighting, no approximation or small changes - straight to the point raw calculations. No more doing prettymuch the same thing by hand going through a ton of log data after the fact
I have never been pleased with the results of the "autotune" function personally and would LOVE to see this.
This would allow basemaps to be roughed in at blazing speeds and save a boatload of time! I don't think this should be terribly hard to program, what do you think Aem? pretty please?

Thanks for the feedback, I think something similar to what you're describing is already on the "To Do" list.

And please make it work with AEM Series 1 too

This is sort of similar to how I tune my fuel map.
After I get my fuel map roughed in enough to drive around I setup O2 feedback and log fuel pulse, load, engine speed. Next I find the fuel pulse that O2 feedback corrected to and paste this value into each appropriate cell of my fuel map. Pretty quick and easy to do because O2 feedback is showing the pulse widths for the target AFR's, requires no math.
I would really like to see something similar that is automatic in the software. Simplest way I've found to do fuel tuning.

What parameter are you logging to see the fuel pulse the O2 Feedback corrects to? I've always just looked at the FB percentage and made corrections that way. I like your idea a lot more; seems more direct.

agreed, I tried to use your method the other day but couldn't figure out which value you specifically logged where you could effectively just cut/paste.

Fuel Pulse, Engine Speed, Load.
Straight from Context help:
Fuel Pulse
Type: Parameter
Units: uS
Pre v0.96 Name: Fuel Pulse
Description: Displays the fuel pulse width after all the global correction factors and the Accel Pump value has been applied, 11th step in the fuel pulse calculation.
For Boost Comp tuning just set your O2 Feedback everywhere to your target AFR and log.
If you have a hybrid tune adjust the lower AFR's to your desired target & paste the values in the load area below 0 PSI (or 100kpa).

Thanks for your clarification. I've always looked at my O2 FB values and applied percentage changes in the areas that I'm working on. Never thought to look for a specific calculated fuel pulse. Seems that would nail down the tune closer/faster than my method. I will give that a try.
Thanks.

I tried that the other day, but thinking about it now it clicked why my values were all different. I have boost comp applying to my vac cells as well, but I still tune them cell by cell. The corrected fuel pulse after boost comp value is displayed... makes sense why I saw 3ms where the map said 6ms, etc. For people with full correct maps it might just be easier to go with o2fb after all...

sounds like a great idea. but can i add something to this?
a option to zero other function when applying this math
and mabe the abillty to save each diffrent function's fuel map by its self. that will speed up tunnning

I developed a program to autotune via log data. Works very well for me.

I second that, post it please.
I developed a spreadsheet in excel to do a lot of common functions for you, but your program would be very helpful. I would love to see these kinds of things built into aem software, but for now that could really save some time.
wow look at the view count on this thread! seems like the suggestion is generating some strong interest aem...
