that bad huh?there is nothing i can do.i brought it to two different people in atl,ga and one in greenville,sc.not my motor that only has 10000 miles on it has washed out bearings.the last guy is basicly blaming it on the guy from atl,but he put 700 miles on my truck and had it for 4 months.he installed a aftercooler i had and tuned it for 1800. when i got it home i noticed i had a crack in the aftercooler. he didnt put antifreeze in the aftercooler tank.he had it for so long, cause when he was tuning it,the fuel pump kept burning up. had to wait for it to be rebuilt twice.brand new feul system from the fuel cell to the fuel rails, all aeromotive stuff.thats a whole other story.

it has been crazy with this!! i had the motor tuned with the factory ford computer, and it ran perfect. so then i got a supercharger and wanted to use my aem stuff. i looked on this website and found someone in atlanta,ga...TOPSPEED...he tried to tune, but said it was dropping tach signal. he said it was the distributor,so i went and bought one and put it on. still nothing. i had to pay him 300 for down dyno time. then i looked on the website again and found another guy in ga....BATTLEGROUND....so i had it towed. he said there was nothing wrong mechanicly just was dropping fuel pressure after 4000rpm. so i had to leave my truck and pay 3500 for this fuel system..then he says he cant tune it anyfurther, because it needed a aftercooler. told me the truck ran fine, but would be alot better with a aftercooler.all in all i paid 5200 for fuel system and tune, with the aftercooler in the box with all the parts. living out of town...when i went pick my truck up it was afterhours,so when i left they left. the truck was skipping,so when i got home i pulled the plugs and they were for a 87 sabb
and there were 2 burnt plug wires. fixed, drove, and wouldnt go over 5000rpm,without backfiring...ok from 0-5000...brought the truck to JR racing in greenville,sc. he installed my aftercooler and parts and tuned my truck for 1800...i barley made it home cause it was skipping so bad.. i stepped out to listen the motor and it was nocking, drained the oil,gas in it....so now he wont do any thing for me says its battlegrounds fault....but he put 700 miles on the truck and thats his tune!!!!! so maybe if you guys can put some more posts about what you think,i will print this out and show it to him.....thanx

yes bob,i would love for you to tune my truck like we talked. i have been real busy working and i was tryin to see if i could get help from this guy with my motor. i spent 7000 since last summer and never drove my truck except home and now i have a bad motor. i wasnt planning on spending another, who knows how much to fix this thing. i took over charlotte area for directv and have been out of town alot. and the reason for the extra posts i wanted is so i could show people, cause no one is on my side all the way...everyone says he is the best around here, cause he has a 1300hp mustang and talks alot of hype about himself, and his car. i hate to show and tell people negative stuff, but im tired of being ripped off. i am tired of paying 2 and 3 times for everything, because of other peoples f-ups. spent 20000 between everything past couple of years and STILL cant drive my truck! my truck has been in and out of shops for the past couple of years, and everyone has something different to tell me. thats why i have been on these fourms, and have learned more doing that then anything. i just never went on these before, and now i wished i would have.

Sounds like you have some real winners down there for tuners. They sound like the typical scab shops that just get money any way they can. Just because they have a 1300rwhp mustang doesn't mean they know how to tune it. (I tuned my car, but I sure wouldn't call myself a tuner) Hell, maybe someone from AEM tuned it or even another shop, then they just put some finishing touches on the tune.
Do yourself a favor and after you get the motor fixed have Bob K tune it for you! You won't be disappointed, and you won't be out any un-necessary funds. You'll be happy you did!

That sucks I almost washed out my motor when I first got the AEM and the new turbo motor running. I had know idea what I was doing with 86LB injectors on a stock fuel map it pumped about a gallon into my oil pan just turning it over. Never started up. This was back in 04 so I called someone i found on a local forum and he sent me a tune with the fuel maps that were corrected I drained the oil and changed it got real lucky. Maybe you can get away with just a rings and bottom end barrings? I guess you haven't had the motor apart maybe take them to small claims but it probably be tough to figure out what caused it. Save the current tune have an expert look it over maybe send it to someone that can look at the fuel maps see if they are correct. These AEM's have an issue with the MSD crank pickup they missfire not all but some. I have been lucky never had the issue I'm using stock dist.
