Benefits of connecting the AEM Wideband Digital UEGO to the FIC
«

Hi Again ~
Wondering if anyone can help with my query :
1. What is the benefit of using the AEM Wideband Digital UEGO connected to the FIC rather than standalone by itself?
2. How do I connect the AEM Wideband Digital UEGO to the FIC? Does this mean that the Narrow band sensor is no longer used by FIC and the ECU?
3. On another topic, What is the AEM "Analog A, Volts" and "Analog B, Volts" used for and or what normally do you connect it to?
Thanks again, appreciate a reply.

1. Connecting a UEGO gauge to the FIC allows you to log AFR. This is very useful for tuning.
2. Think of the UEGO as an auxiliary input. You're not replacing your existing sensors with the UEGO. You're just using it as a tuning tool. It connects to the auxiliary input on pin 18 of the 22 pin connector.
3. You can use the Analog A & B maps for whatever you want. Any 0-5 volt analog device (MAP, IAT, TPS, etc.) can be used. Not every application will require the use of the additional analog maps. If you don't have a use for it then you won't need to use them.

Hi ~
Once you connect the UEGO to the FIC6, what additional items can you view in the AEM FIC tuning software i.e. new parameters etc? Also in the Setup, does the View as AFR tick is required with the AFR table setup?
Thanks again.

Please review the instruction manual, specifically page 19 and 20.
Please note that this is assuming you already know the voltage values to apply to your factory O2 sensor to achieve the desired AFR.
Taken from the manual...
"Viewing the O2 Map as AFR
In the “Voltage and “Offset” modes, the software can be configured to view the “O2 Map” as AFR values rather than voltage values. To display the “O2 Map” as AFR values, the “View as AFR” checkbox must be checked, and the “AFR to Voltage Table” must be configured. The “View as AFR” checkbox is located in the “O2” section of the “Setup” window, see Figure 28. To open the “AFR to voltage Table”, click on the AFR table icon next to the “View as AFR” checkbox. The “AFR to Voltage Table” contains two columns and 20 rows, see Figure 27. When completing the “Volts out” column, the lowest voltage must be in the top row, while the largest voltage value must go in the bottom row. In the “AFR” column, enter the corresponding AFR for each voltage output. Once the “AFR to Voltage Table” is complete, AFR values can be entered into the O2 map. For a given cell value in the O2 map, the FIC will take the value from the O2 map and look at the “AFR to Voltage Table”. The FIC will then output the corresponding voltage value."

Hi
Much thanks for your inputs. I'm looking for a SCION TC 2AZFE fi6 file as basemap file to start tweaking/tuning from. Do you have/know where I can get one, thanks.
Additionally, where can I get the manual for the version 3.0.4 for the AEM Fi6, thank you.

I think this is a FIC8 manual. Is there an updated one for FIC6?

Hi
Thanks for your inputs. I finally got around it today and installed my AEM UEGO 5v output to the suggested pin 18 of the 22 pin connector and Bingo, it makes tuning much much easier without the need to look at the gauge.
I noticed the one on the Computer is a few points off the actual Gauge, which would be more accurate and how to calibrate it to be the same (only 0.2 to 0.3 difference in view i.e. 14.2 versus 14.4) Maybe is the rate of response between the computer and the actual gauge.

Right click on the UEGO gauge display in the gauges window to view the UEGO configure menu. Make sure the analog to AFR table is setup correctly.

Do you mean the Aux Gauge Setup as in "Setup -> Aux Gauge" and the Aux In/Meter Value table? If yes, can you provide some common values to put in, thanks.
