Being that this is one of the most unused EMS. I thought I would give my opinion on it.
A customer brought his car in to my shop. He had sent his car to all kinds of shops from phoenix to houston and everywhere in between. Car always ran crappy. It was a fully built motor with a vortec supercharger. I literally plugged the aem EMS in, and it started right up and purred. Everyone else blamed a big cam for its crappy idle and driveability. It was just that easy. Then I installed the 3 bar map and actually tuned the car. It ended up making 648 whp on 91 octane at 8 psi or boost. Then I sprayed it with a 50 shot shark nozzle before the throttle body and ended up with 695 whp. We couldn't even dyno the car when it came in. We tried several runs, but always had to let off around 4600 rpm because it was running to lean. Up to that point, the same curve was making over 100 hp more with the aem. Nothing was changed with car until after the first dyno session. I ran out of fuel pump, so I put an Eliminator pump and proper sump to gravity feed it. This was done for more reliable fueling.
Beyond all this, the customer was happy to finally be able to drive his car after more than a whole year of first having the car tuned with the hp tuners program at various shops.
