I'm unable to open cal files from 1.19, is aem tuner only compatible now with the series 2 boxes?  I'm unable to open a v1.19 cal in the aemtuner. I understand the new workspace is for the series2, but I was hoping to be able to still use tuner with 1.19.

Thanks

Tuner will *sort of* work with 1.19 but since we dont have updated 1.19 workspaces or function databases it will be kind of spotty. It really is designed for Series2 boxes.

Put your 1.19 *.gin file into the gin file directory and restart tuner. Then it should see your 1.19 cals but be warned, the best features of tuner wont work without the mating Series2 Hardware.

So does this also mean, every time I make a custom workspace and you update the program, I have to make a brand new workspace again.

Also where are the change logs?

my 1.19's open , what does this mean?  "we don't have updated 1.19 workspaces or function databases it will be kind of spotty. It really is designed for Series2 boxes."

Should 1.19's and earlier not use aem tuner at all?

Hmmm the above got me a little worried now. Is tuner going to fully support AEM Serise 1 boxes fully? or is that now going to be a bit of a "if it works, it works" affair?  undecided

Any response on using AEMTuner with Series 1 boxes? If it will be available, when is it roadmapped for, and when will it be supported from? If not ever available or supported, what is the development plan and support position on AEMPro?

Is it best to be using 1.19 or 1.21 with AEMTuner, or will a newer firmware be released to support some of the AEMTuner features on Series1?

V1.21 is for the GM Fbody...... DO NOT try just "upgrading" to v1.21.

Put your 1.19 *.gin file into the gin file directory and restart tuner. Then it should see your 1.19 cals but be warned, the best features of tuner wont work without the mating Series2 Hardware.

Tried that and it says it is not supported by aem tuner.

Same here, not working.

ERROR dialog box when launching AEMTuner: "AEMTuner attempted to open a GIN File for version: AEM15 V1.19 but the file for this version does not exist"

If you just click on OK 5 times, the application loads and brings up the calibration load dialog, however, if you try open a 1.19 calibration, the same dialog appears and after the 5th click, another error pops up - attached as gif (sorry for bad 8bit gif conversion, I had to use mspaint, as my tuning laptop only has XPsp3 and the AEM software installed)

Same error, tried opening a known good v1.19 CAL file in RC tuner and would not load it.

It's also insanely slow - even on 3.16ghz machine with 7100fireGL card (windowx Xp64). Swapping tabs is like watching paint dry.

Should be interesting to see if Tuners will have to know 2 softwares packages for essentially 1 EMS package.

My hope is that support for existing series 1 boxes will improve or this will be like windows Vista - DOA!

It seems that the simple answer to this is No the new tuner release will not work with your old maps.  So what I am doing at home is just running the tuner software on one pc using the default supra cal and just checking out all the cool stuff.  Also I would not be to hard on AEM quite yet, this just came out, and as they refine there product I am sure that the tuner software will support the old ems series 1 boxes.  It is not like there is a huge difference between the two of them.

As for the speed, it is slow for me also.  I prefer the old school AEMPro because it is 900% faster.  I do love the Help pane on the Tuner, that will make it easier for new comers to tune there cars.  Instead of having to open up the PDF everytime you want to know what something really does it is right there for you.  Very cool feature.

As for the speed, do you switch tabs with EMS connected or not?

If EMS is connected and live, switching tabs takes longer since new channel data need to be read-in and old one need to be swap-out.
If you are just opening calibration without EMS, the speed should not be slow. ( My p4 3Ghz 2Gram works well)

Also, check the preference page: Tools->Preference->Startup->Default Sheet Pre-Loading:
Change the number to a larger one. (default value for v0.96 is 1 and it was 4 before)

If the speed is still too slow, let me know. Thanks.
