I was going through the software since I ordered a gen 2 MKIV Supra ecu. And apparently the AEM tuner software is holding about 69MB on the ram, while the AEM pro was only holding 7MB. Not a very light software to my understanding.  I have no issues with the way it is setup, you can navigate through it easily , but I personally don't think it's an upgrade to the AEM Pro.

But since AEM is forcing it to use it with Gen 2 Ecus, then I guess we have no option. Still though I get a feeling especially when one copies through different maps, it doesn't refresh, unless you move the cursors. I think the AEM tuner software definitely needs some work still. And personally running a workbench aparently is what takes so much memory, since it has open like almost every map out there.

Maybe the workbench can be massaged to make it lighter, I'll work on that.

Cheers, just my 2 cents

Windows Task Manager "Mem Usage" is a misleading metric (ref: http://www.itwriting.com/dotnetmem.php ) especially for any software written with modern development tools.  AEMTuner is more feature-rich, and with that said, certainly has a larger footprint than AEMPro.  One of the less visible features is that AEMTuner has been designed with a framework such that you can expect to see some really powerful features above and beyond AEMPro as we progress.

Stay tuned and give a few extra minutes to get used to the new software -- I think you'll like it.

It is heavier to run. A lot heavier. It's damn slow!

I don't know if it's the programming or the "framework design" or a combination of both slowing the pc down.
Nowadays companys are hoping for their customers pc power to compensate this issue.
Can this new software really make that much more with our EMS than the versions before?
I remember a time when computing power was limited and programs had to be programmed smart and intelligent.
For me it seems like a step in the wrong direction.

I really hope to get used to switching between the windows like loading floppy disk games into my C64  grin

Running 0.97d.
Just got rid of Win2K and installed XP.
Running faster now, but still takes a long time to load.
USB is also working (on Win2K it did not) and transfer is a lot faster now.

Ian, can you tell me what's your OS/Ram? Also are you running the newest v0.99 beta version? Thanks.
