Author Topic: 9 second 1/4 mile S2000 on pump gas and street tires!  (Read 1599 times)

Carey Bales owns this beautiful example of a daily driven street car.  His turbo-charged S2000 is running an AEM 30-1052 EMS, AEM Twin Fire Ignition, AEM Pencil Coils, AEM Injector Driver, AEM Serial Datastream Gauge, AEM wideband, AEM sensors, and an AEM Water/Meth Injection kit.

This past weekend, Carey ran a 10.4 at 140 MPH quarter mile pass on regular octane pump gas.  This was backed up by a 10.5 at 140 MPH on his previous run.  He drove to the track, ran the passes, and drove home without so much as changing the tire pressure.  

Carey's S2000 still has a fully functioning A/C system, full interior, power windows, stereo, and weighs over 3000 lbs with driver.

**New Update**

Carey ran 10.20 at 141.67 MPH at the IFO Columbus event this weekend.  This was backed up by a 10.26 at 140.27 MPH on the prior run.

The new times were still on regular octane pump gas with AEM water / meth injection and street tires!

you consider what to be a street tire exactly? A QTP or a ET street?

I am running MT Street ET drag radials that are D.O.T approved street legal tires.  I've put approximately 5,000 miles on the tires this year including all the burnouts and racing abuse.

Here are a couple of vids, and a few pics from the IFO event this last weekend in Columbus, OH.  I didn't do too bad against the race cars, and was actually reeling them in on the big end.  My first round video against the Conquest, I came around him right at the stripe, it was awesome.  The MOV was .05.  Smiley  My 60' times are slowly dropping at each outing, which is obviously where we are finding the most ET.  These 2 runs I cut a 1.66 and 1.65 60'
