IACV Steps settings...
«

The startup cal has the max number of steps for the LS1 being 235. The actual max steps of that idle motor is over 360 steps. Since the max that the AEM can accept as a value is 255, should I set it to 255, and then adjust the park position for the best startup airflow? My car does seem to start better with a max of 255, which would mean the park position further open, if the % open at park stays at the 73% that the startup cal has specified.... any experience of input anyone?
Thanks.

The stock LS1 tune controls the the IACV to a max of 365 steps and parks it for startup at 310 steps.
The AEM cannot control anything beyond 255 steps, however the steps are slightly larger... so based on my testing, the IACV will only get to around 94% open. (I know the math doesnt work out, but I moved the IACV in 2% increments and the AEM stopped controlling it at 94%)
So, if the 255 steps is 94%, then hypothetically wide open would be 271 steps. Here is the logic I used to help my starting.
The LS1 parks at 310/365 steps which is 84% open.
84% of 271 is 227 steps.
227 is 89% of 255.
I set my IACV to park at 89%, instead of 73% as in the startup cal, and the startup is much better now.
