If the laptop became disconnected from the EMS during the reflash process, it's likely the firmware is now corrupt. The firmware tells the EMS how to communicate with the laptop so unfortunately there isn't a way to fix this on your own. Please contact AEM Tech Support, the phone number is printed on a sticker on the EMS. This sticker also contains the Serial Number, please have that number available when you call.

This also happened to me and I could not connect to the AEM for a while. I tried several times going to the ECU, Update EMS firmware menu options and tried different versions until the AEM accepted one and I was finally able to connect again. However, in my situation, I accidentally turned the ignition OFF while the laptop was still connected to the AEM, I dnt know if this made the difference.

I hope this can help someone out there with a similar problem.
