I have a twin fire CDI installed along with my 30-1900U Universal EMS.  during the initial configurations,  I am reading that I need to verify actual timing with a timing light.  are there any special types of timing lights that are used for CDI ignitions?  or will any 'ol timing light work just fine with it?

any suggestions?  I'm extremely cost conscious this month,  and where as I'd normally research tiing lights and buy the best one/keep it for life...   well,  thats not in the cards this month!

I'm looking at the $25-$30 timing lights sold at advanced auto parts, Northern, Harbor Freight, etc...

will these get the job done right?

thanks

If you're running pencil coils, you'll need a spark tester (for the small spark plug wire attatched to it) to run an inductive clamp timing light. However, if you've got spark plug wires, these timing lights should work just fine.
