On the new ser 2 units, if you wanna run hall effect , does the box  still need to be modded or can you just configure it through the software?

Similar to the Series 1 units, this may be different for each EMS part number. Some of the units will include JPT jumpers and the process will be the same as the old part number (6040, 6050, 6060 for instance), some units might not include JPT jumpers and it will be difficult to change between hall and mag sensors (6100, 6300 for instance).

At least two levels of Universal EMS units are in the works and it's likely they will include software selectable cam and crank inputs.
