I bought a "new" laptop to use as a dedicated carputer. It is a Panasonic Toughbook CF28, and also a permanent touchscreen and car mount keyboard (auxiliary monitor and keyboard) as well as a dock/port replicator.
I downloaded the current AEMpro and AEMlog plus wizard updates, and it is doing some wierd stuff! My TPS shows up as air temp, voltage reads 2.6 volts, boost is maxed out with the car off, scalars read in kpa even though I select psi, bmw/porsche 60-2 cam&crank is curiously deselected & more...
I remove the serial cable and reconnect my desktop PC and all is back to normal
I try the laptop again amd its back to the wierdness
1. I originally installed from the CD and then updated when I setup the PC
While I just DL'd everything on the new laptop
2. The aem serial cable wont fit in the "hole" that the laptop serial port sits in so I used an additional serial cable and connected with 2 serials (old one i had fits the toughbook ok)
Aem - serial cable - serial cable - laptop
Instead of AEM -serial cable - PC....
This is a 30-1900u universal EMS if that makes a difference
Anyone have any ideas why I'm running into wierd problems like this?
Im about to pull my hair out trying to get the laptop to wprk right and will appreciate ANY help!
