Hey all,

Im having an issue with my EMS. Ill be driving around with my laptop connected. The i grab the laptop, and the AEM Pro software is frozen. I figured out that i am getting a "Receive Buffer Overflow" error. The car has been running fine on v1.19 firmware for the past 5 months with no errors. It just started happening this past week. Funny thing is the car runs just as good as it has. No stalling or anything when i get the error. Also using the same laptop, coms port and USB Serial adapter. Also internal logging seems to work fine. To reconnect to the ecu i have to restart the laptop... Its a hassle to have to turn the car off to look at the datalogs....

So far I tried to:
Reinstall AEM Pro
Reflash firmware
Reseat the EPROM
I also inspected all the power/grounds in the harness and everything looks good to me.

ANY help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Phone shot of the issue:

For the sake of conclusions (i know not many people do this here) i figured id reply with how i fixed the issue.

I dropped down the bit transfer rate and all is well.

Cheers

I had this problem and it turned out to be a bad serial to usb adapter cable and driver. try reinstalling the driver to see if that fixes it. If not, get a new cable.
