Hello,

It seems many are having problems with USB to serial.

I am not doing that, so info is not helpful: I am just trying to connect serial to serial. Here is my story:

I have a 1052 EMS and I have personally never connected to it. I have a laptop with serial port, and I just installed the UEGO Guage. So I loaded the AEMPro Software (from the CD, and downloaded from his forum), and I just get a message like 'setting communications etc.' then it immediately says "Off Line". With the red offline blinking at the bottom.

I have read everything that I can find here and I am at a loss; I have Serial COM Port 1, latest sofware etc..

Is it possible, since I have never connected to it myself, that when the tune was done in some other/older format?

ADDITIONAL QUESTION: Since I added the UEGO Gauge. Can I run (idle) the car with a non-configured UEGO?

Thanks,

X

The more I read; it seems many look to it being a ground issue, or not enough 12v power.

Well, what I can't find is how to fix the above. I am not an electrical engineer. If this is such a common issue where is the FAQ or TROUBLE SHOOT section that details how to try to fix the ground or 'add' more 12v power.

I hope that choosing the AEM EMS wasn't a mistake (I have 2 ems's).
