I need 4, I am using low imp Siemens 55# injectors, I think they are about 3 ohms. Any idea what wattage and resistance I need?
Thanks in advance.

If you're just needing four grab a resistor box off of a Honda. Potted, heatsinked, and neat! From a boneyard they're cheap too...

My RX7 uses 2.3 ohm resistors stock. Am I in danger of frying the drivers in the EMS? No mention of that in the manual but everyone recommends running resistors when changing to large low impedance injectors. I am confused. Please help.

Also does anyone know how to set-up 2 additional injectors in the EMS. I only seem to have one "spare injector driver" available. I intend to fire the additional injectors at the same time as the secondaries. Can I just wire them parallel to the same driver?

Thanks

You've likely got a resistor box onboard stock already.

If it is not in the ECU than there is none. Just removed the engine and the wiring harness and there is no box. Cable straight from the injectors to the ECU.

check from the power to the injector side.  not from the injector to ecu side of te circut.  all the ecu does is create a ground.

It actually says 2.3 ohms in the manual and on the RC engenering site for replacement injectors. I will check anyway, unfortunanetly can't do it at the moment since my car is in pieces all over my garage.

Sorry to waste everyones time. It measures 13.8 ohms. Just wondering why the AEM EMS amnual states 2.3 Ohms and RC offers low imp replacements.

I'm not sure if that's a question since there was not '?' in there... but if it is, I will just tell you that the answer is already stated on the 1st page of this thread.  The EMS cannot handle the load/will fry if it uses low impedance injectors without a resistor box.  The box only costs $30 at most and is easy to wire.

I bought some injectors from RC a while back and they were listed as saturated.  However, I had problems idling and such.  It also blew up 3 different ECU's, P28's for honda before I went with AEM.  I'm wondering if the injector drivers for the AEM are fried.  I have a 30-1000 box btw.  I'm more worried about AEM damage.  Could my box be damaged? Sad

Huh, and you din't measure the resistance across the two terminals of the injector before installing even a single time?! It takes about 5 seconds ...

If you hook low impedance injectors directly to the AEM - yup it will burn out ...

You'll want 10 watt 10 ohm resistors, which will make a low impedence injector a high impendence injector.  It'll make your average 2.8 ohm injector into a 12.8 which is within the specs of 12-16 ohm of a high impedence one.  Then wire one into each injector  between it and the ecu.

I called AEM and they told me to use the 10w10ohms just like you said and to wire them in line with the injectors. Can I run the resistor right by the ECU on the engine harness for each injector, or do I have to run the resistors by the injectors themselves in the engine bay?

Would it be easier if I got a resistor pack instead? Where would I wire that up to? I read somewhere that the Toyota Supras already have a resistor pack from the factory in the car? Then do I still need to put resistors or a resistor pack in? I am so confused right now...can someone please clear this up for me?!?

It doesn't matter

Resistor pack means you have the resistors setup nicely for mounting. You wire them the same way

P.S. But if you ask such questions, I suggest you to find someone good at electronics and soldering iron - proper soldering will save you from chasing gremlins in the future

American market TT Supras already have a resistor pack. It's the thing on the shock tower with the metal guard on it - flat black.
