AEM's Injector Battery Offset Test PolicyPurpose: To build up our library of injector response information and make this difficult to obtain information available to the widest possible user base.
Overview:We will test customers fuel injectors at no charge to determine the correct battery offset table provided the injectors do not already exist in our wizard database, are commonly available and have some potential hi-performance application.
Procedure:1. The customer must email AEM's resident injector test guru
FlowMasterJ@AEMPower.com to confirm that the injectors meet our test criteria and will likely fit our test bench (i.e. pico style, side feed etc...). The customer will be given the address and an authorization number.
2. The customer ships two (2) clean, properly operating injectors with all applicable o-rings and seals along with all known information about the injector (manufacturer, make, model, flow, OEM usage etc...) to AEM. The customer should use UPS, FedEx or some other shipping method that can track the shipment. AEM will not attempt to locate missing injectors unless we have signed for them!
3. AEM reserves the right to not test injectors that exhibit erratic or inconsistent operation.
4. If it turns out that the injectors will not physically fit our test bench, AEM may choose to modify our test fixture to accommodate the injector. If so, the customer will be contacted regarding the delay and given the opportunity to have the injectors returned untested.
5. AEM will flow test the injectors @ 43 PSI to determine that the 2 samples are similar.
6. Low impedance injectors will be tested with a resistor box inline.
7. All response data will be gathered with an AEM EMS driving the actual injector.
8. After allowing about 1.5 to 2 weeks for testing, AEM will return the injectors with the test data, prepaid to the customer via UPS Ground. The injector test data will be added to all future releases of the AEM wizard library.
Please note:
The purpose of this testing is to determine the battery voltage response characteristics of the injectors. It is not to flow test, match or clean your injectors. If this is what you need, then we recommend you send them to RC Engineering or another similar facility. If more than 2 samples are sent, we will only test the first 2 we pull out of the box.
