Newbie question. In a nut shell. What is the difference between the series 1 and 2?

What confuses me is that at the bottom it says automatic transmission control for both... If this is not possible then why is it there. Or how come no one can get it to work correctly?

You must not be too familiar with how the AEM boxes are made.

All boxes have two boards. The EMS board, and the PNP board. Only certain boxes have the PNP board setup to drive an auto transmission, even though the EMS board can do it. The trouble with the 1310 board is ADCR13, which is the 0-5v input for GearRAW, which is what controls what gear the transmission needs to be in. With the PNP board, it is bridged to switch2, as well as a few other circuits, and not connected to the EMS board at all. This is why you have no GearRAW or ADCR13 input on the 1310 box. The EMS board in the 1310 box though is the same in all the other boxes.

If you take your box apart, you will see both boards, and the jumpers between them.

Yea this is all new to me I haven't a clue as to how these things are made, so I appreciate your patience and help.
So does this version 2 have the extra switch necesssary to make this happen, I see in the specs it has a switch two or am I way off?

I guess I have no choice but to make the tcu work unless my box burns out and I can't get it warrantied.

You wire the buttons up to a relay (one per button) and wire the relay into the input of the shiftbox.  You will just need to weld the steering wheel to your factory steering wheel hub plate to get it to fit the dsm steering column.

Hmm I wonder if I can still use the tcu for D and OD and wire in a shift box to the tiptronic side of that shifter and some how make it switch over when I side slap the shifter into the tiptronic section to manually shift the trans. Basically the same way it works in the vehicle it came from.

Sounds scary, Dave says his was a pain to wire it up to work tiptronic. I'm currently trying to bribe him into doing mine but it's not looking good... lol
